He suggested to the woman that he could summon Mai's spirit so that she could listen to how Mai wanted her mom to live her life. The woman reluctantly agreed. As Subaru was summoning the child, he discovered that the little girl was suffocating, hurting and was calling mama for help. She wanted mama to kill that guy, to punish that guy. Subaru was shocked at this. The woman met her daughter's ghost, but couldn't hear what she was saying. Subaru lied that Mai wanted her mama to live happily. This made Subaru really uncomfortable. It was raining. Seishirou was preparing dinner in his apartment. He was wondering if he should meet Subaru outside with an umbrella. The doorbell rang. Seishirou opened the door. She said that she would return him the handkerchief when she could become strong, not through the way Kumiko told her, but become really strong. And until then, she would keep his handkerchief. Later in the car, Hokuto teased Subaru and Seishirou that Seishirou now had competition. Subaru was embarassed. Hokuto commented that Kumiko was killed; it was on the newspapers. She remarked that Subaru had wasted his time. Subaru was wondering how he ended up in his room as he remebered talking to Kumiko the last night. Seishirou changed the subject of conversation and they went off.
