Subaru was totally depressed and grieving over what he has done to 
Seishirou.  Hokuto had a hard time trying to comfort and explain to 
Subaru.  When Hokuto asked him what was the first thing he wanted to do 
for Seishirou, Subaru replied that he wanted to apologize.  So Hokuto 
encouraged Subaru to go to the hospital and appologize until Subaru was
satisfied.

Subaru was still worried in front of the Seishirou's sick room, but
eventually he went in.  Seishirou greeted him and was talking just as
usual which made Subaru feel bad.  Subaru broke into tears and
apologized.  Seishirou explained that it wasn't Subaru's fault.  He just
did it for his own sake, from his own intention.  He tried to cheer Subaru up and he did.  Hokuto later came in and thanked him for forgiving Subaru.  She told him that Subaru totally give himself up, only because the person was Seishirou and that Seishirou was the only 'special' person to him. 

Subaru introduced Yuuya to Hokuto.  All of them became close friends. 
Subaru gave Yuuya his phone number so that Yuuya could call him anytime
when he felt lonely.  On the other hand, the police was questioning
Seishirou to see if he wanted to charge the woman.  But Seishirou didn't
want to because the woman was already in pain, and if they put her to
jail, no one would be able to take care of Yuuya. 

One evening, Hokuto and Subaru were eating.  The phone rang.  It was Yuuya on the phone, sobbing.  He asked Subaru if his mom did something wrong by hurting someone.  Subaru and Hokuto were shocked because the news wasn't suppose to reach to the child's ear, but somehow it did.  Subaru and Hokuto hurried to the hospital where they found the entrance was surrounded by the reporters.  The doctor explained that somehow, the story went to the TV stations and the reporters came rushing in to get the first hand news. The doctors couldn't find Yuuya but they asked Seishirou not to go out of his room.  Subaru went to look for Yuuya, and found him in the dialysis room.

The doctors put Yuuya into a different room.  Subaru managed to tell Yuuya that he had to believe in his mom.  He explained that what the media did was reporting the facts to 'other people' by 'other people'.  Not being those directly involved, the reporters were merely reporting facts, but not the truth. 

After some time, Subaru and Hokuto cheered Yuuya up again.  But Seishirou was still nowhere to be found.  Hokuto said to Subaru that it was really weird because although the reporters were very keen in extracting information, Seishirou's name was never mentioned. 

Meanwhile, on top of the roof of the hospital, Seishirou stood and
murmured, "the time has come to settle our 'bet', Subaru."

Subaru was dreaming about something that happened when he was 9 years old.  He was standing in front of a big cherry blossom tree when a student came to him. He told young Subaru that the cherry blossom petals should be white, but this particular tree has pink ones because there was a body buried in the soil, and the tree absorbed the blood of the body.  Young Subaru said that the person buried there must be painful.  The student mentioned about a bet.  Subaru remembered that he did make a bet with that person.  But then the wind blew hard and he couldn't hear about the bet.  Suddenly a person grabbed his shoulder from behind.  Subaru turned around and saw a familiar face.  He also heard the person said that it's time to settle the bet.  He saw himself dressed in full costume, dead, lying in that person's hand while the person was fading away from the cherry blossom petals.  He called out: "Sei..." and woke up.

It was breakfast time.  Subaru was about to see Seishirou again when
Hokuto reminded him of his pure and kind nature.  She said Subaru didn't 
understand his own heart although he could feel other people's heart.  
Hokuto also reminded him that he should think deeper into this incident.  
Who has changed the most?  Subaru wanted to say Seishirou, but Hokuto 
denied it.  She said that "he" didn't change, or rather he just stop 
"pretending".  She wanted Subaru to think harder about the relationship 
between "Subaru Sumeragi" and "Seishirou Sakurazuka".  She embraced him 
and said, "Be careful and don't go to a place that is far away..."

On the way to the hospital, he met a blind person with his seeing-eye dog being teased by some students.  He managed to save the dog and the person from those people.  And he also wanted to find out more about seeing-eye dog because he thought Seishirou might need one someday.  The man told him that seeing-eye dog was his own eyes, and it was trained to live with him, and to become a pair.  And before Seishirou could get/need a seeing-eye dog, Subaru could become his eyes, and make a good pair.

Subaru thought to himself at the hospital, and realized that the day
he was banging at the operation room door, he was actually afraid that
Seishirou would hate him because of what he has done to him.  He was
afraid that Seishirou would abandon him.  He realized that he loved
Seishirou.

Subaru opened the sick room door, but was only too shocked to see another dimension or illusion in front of him.  He saw a Seishirou, standing in front of a big cherry blossom tree, saying: The time has come to settle our 'bet'.
